Ever since handheld consoles have made a splash in the gaming community, the way we play games has completely changed, and a big part of this change is Nintendo 3DS and its Pokémon series.
Pokémon games have been the rage of every gaming generation, and now Nintendo with its Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon is continuing the tradition! Along with all the best parts of the Pokémon series developed throughout the years, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon have returned with a unique feature called Island scan which makes catching Pokémon all the more exciting! Want to know more? Read on!
So what does this Island Scan feature do, you ask?
Ever wanted to catch the special Pokémon you usually would not be able to? Well, Pokemon Island Scan makes that possible for you! The feature scans the island you are currently on and depending on the day of the week you will see special Pokémon you normally cannot catch. But there’s a condition to this. You get only one hour to catch the Pokémon. All you need to do is go to the location listed by Island Scan and only in a few encounters you will find your special Pokémon!
Now you might ask how we would get these Pokemon.
That is easy. You can unlock these with QR Codes. There is an in-game Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon app, and for every QR Code you scan it, you get 10 points. This reward system is not fixed so you can get 20 points as well. In all, when you collect 100 points, you can use this feature.
You do need to remember that while scanning any QR code is allowed, Island Scan QR Codes can only be used once a day so be alert and prepared to catch the special Pokémon during a limited period only. One tip is to carry powerful Poke balls to capture them because they won’t be easy to catch since they are rare and have a low capture rate.
Everyone knows how difficult it is to catch rare Pokémon, so this will obviously not make it easy by letting you get your hands on the best without a few conditions. One of the features of the Island Scan is that every special Pokémon appears on it only when used on a specific day of the week. So you need to know the days corresponding to the Pokémon you want to catch.
